What if I don’t know what to say?

This is a very common worry, but please know: you don’t have to show up with a script. My job is to help lead the way. Some days we might dive deep into a specific struggle, and other days we might just explore how your week went. If you ever feel 'stuck,' I’ll be there with questions and prompts to help us find the thread together. We move at your pace, and even 'silence' can be a productive part of the process.
What if I’ve never done therapy?

Welcome! Think of our first session as a 'get to know you' meeting. There’s no right or wrong way to 'do' therapy. We’ll spend time talking about what brought you in, what your life looks like, and what you hope to change. You are the expert on your life, and I am here to provide the tools and safe space to help you navigate it. We’ll figure out a rhythm that works best for you.

What if I need medication?
Do you assign homework?

Sometimes, if it feels helpful to you. We might decide on a reflection prompt or a boundary to practice, but it’s always collaborative and flexible. We move at your pace, and there is never any judgment if life gets in the way.
I provide talk therapy and emotional support, but I do not prescribe medication. However, I believe in a holistic approach to mental health. If we decide together that medication might be a helpful tool for your journey, I can help you navigate that process and provide referrals to trusted psychiatrists or primary care physicians. We can then work collaboratively to ensure your therapy and medical support are working hand-in-hand.
